I love September! The weather is cooler and yet the days are warm, just less humidity. Fair season is in full swing with a different community each week. They are all the same but different. I’ve always lived in Lancaster County so find it hard to imagine that you have never stood nose to nose with a cow, sheep or goat. The animals at the fairs have been cuddled and coddled to the point that the owners considers part of them. Come enjoy this special season. While you are at it check our rates for mid-week to make it more enticing.

Summer is still very much here but I feel a twinge of Fall in the evening. That twinge, I’m sure, is a prelude to “Fair Season” in Lancaster County. The first fair is in Elizabethtown and opens next Monday, Aug 23. This is one of the premere fairs as it has a great “farm feel” as well as the best rides and food. Every night there are shows on the stage, something for all tastes. You can get up close and personal with farm animals or just go to the petting area and really get cozy with whatever takes your fancy. They also have exhibits of fruits, vegetables, and artwork. Did I mention food:), once again we have that subject, there is so much you have a hard time deciding what you might want, so I say enjoy it all week. Saturday night is the fireworks at 10 pm. How much fun!

I recently had a guest that wanted on going to Carrabba’s for dinner, so I gave her a map and sent her on the way. We have so much good food in Lancaster County that this was a place I had by-passed. Well, last week I was invited to a private lunch with our state senator, so now I know why she wanted to go there. The food was incredible! I do love Italian food and this was all that and more. If you are in the county and need a pasta fix this is it.
