Our leaves are probably past their peak but the temperatures are still nice.  Hiking this time of year is so pleasant because you do not get hot doing it. Close by here we have some “rails to trails” and Chickies County Park, for the casual walker. I personally love to take a sandwich (Subway is close, or Joe’s Steak Shop) and go sit by the river.  I find water peaceful. This activity (okay, not much activity) helps me get my head on straight.

Down by the river is Shank’s Mare, a kayaking rental shop that is open all year. I’ll watch.
